Event Details
This live event is presented by, pathologist Oonagh King, and involves a ‘living’ dead body, played by an actor. This event will take attendees through the process of a post-mortem examination, showing the real instruments used, explaining where incisions are made, how each organ is examined, and what tests might be carried out. It will also explain the role of pathologists, and what circumstances would lead to a post-mortem being required for someone who has died.
Dr Oonagh King, Histopathology Registrar in Craigavon Area Hospital
Oonagh completed her medical degree in Queen's University Belfast and did a Master's degree in English Literature and Medicine at King's College London. They then completed their general hospital training in London, and worked for the charity Mind for a year also. Oonagh started as a trainee in Histopathology in 2016 and got their Royal College fellowship exams completed in October 2021.
