QUB Green Comic project: Tales of Ecological Terror – A Plastic Nightmare
Event Details

With recognition of the need to think more imaginatively about ways to raise awareness about environmental issues in educational settings, a team of staff and students at Queen’s University Belfast developed the QUB Green Comic project: “Tales of Ecological Terror - A Plastic Nightmare.”

This event will officially launch the comic at the Naughton Gallery, Queen’s University Belfast, where attendees will be able to pick-up a free copy of the comic (we will supply one copy per attendee) and view some of the graphics on television screens in the gallery. After viewing some of the visual material from the comic, there will be a talk focused on the development of the comic followed by a Q&A panel with members of the team involved in developing the comic: Dr Emma Berry (Project Lead, Comic Editor, and Health Psychology Lecturer at QUB); Mr Jim Lavery (Comic Book Artist, Revolve Comics); and Dr Bronagh Millar (Characterisation Manager at the Polymer Processing Research Centre at QUB), Ms Denise Price (Project Manager at the Polymer Processing Research Centre at QUB), and Ms Alaina Macri (PhD student, Psychology).

Refreshments will be provided (tea/coffee/juice and biscuits).
