Event Details

Can science tell us why Derry Girls became a smash hit? Join Karen and Emma, from Small Screen Science Podcast, to explore the surprising science behind one our favourite TV shows.

Diving deep into the oddest corners of biology and psychology, we’ll find out why we find Orla’s oddball character so funny, and why audiences can’t get enough of a good sitcom. We’ll also join the girls from Our Lady Immaculate as they turn their eyes on a group of Protestant lads to find out why we fancy certain people more than others, and what happens in our bodies and brains when we do.

All this and more, live at the Brickwork Comedy Club in Derry. Finally, we will be joined by stand-up comedian and actress, Diana Doherty, for a chat about her time as part of the Derry Girls cast.
